Position Summary
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for leading mechanical design and coordination on complex building projects in Hong Kong. This role includes managing design reviews, technical compliance, and construction support across HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in building services and experience in both design and delivery phases.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical system design including HVAC, water supply, drainage, and fire protection
Coordinate with electrical, structural, architectural, and specialist teams for integrated design solutions
Review shop drawings, specifications, and technical submissions for compliance with codes and project standards
Provide technical support during site inspections, testing, and commissioning phases
Ensure mechanical systems meet local regulatory requirements and international design standards
Contribute to sustainability goals and design optimisation through value engineering
Assist in client liaison, technical meetings, and project reporting
Support tender evaluations and contractor/subcontractor engagement where required
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical design and coordination in the building sector
Familiarity with local Hong Kong building codes and international mechanical standards
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and engineering analysis tools
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Fluent in English; Cantonese proficiency is an advantage
Preferred Qualifications
Chartered Engineer or equivalent accreditation
Experience with green building standards such as BEAM Plus or LEED
Consultancy background and exposure to both design and project delivery
Knowledge of infrastructure or large-scale institutional developments
