About the Role:
The Project Director will take full ownership of a large-scale manufacturing project in Johor. This leadership role requires a seasoned professional with proven experience managing complex, high-value projects. The successful candidate will oversee multidisciplinary teams, liaise with stakeholders, and ensure that project objectives are met in terms of quality, safety, budget, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall delivery of the life sciences manufacturing project from inception through design, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Develop and implement project strategies, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company objectives.
- Manage and mentor project teams, including engineering, design, and construction professionals.
- Oversee budgets, schedules, procurement, and resources to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and stakeholder alignment.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while promoting health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Review and approve contracts, change orders, and key project documentation.
- Foster collaboration among internal teams and external partners to drive project success.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 15+ years of project management experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of delivering high-value life sciences, healthcare, or manufacturing projects.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse, cross-functional teams.
- Expertise in budget control, resource planning, and risk management.
- Familiarity with international construction standards, contracts, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Previous experience working in an expatriate or multicultural environment is highly desirable.
