Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Position Summary
The Construction Manager will oversee the on-site delivery of data centre construction projects in Malaysia. This role is responsible for managing site operations, supervising contractors, ensuring safety compliance, and driving project timelines from ground-breaking through to commissioning. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, highly organised, and capable of leading a fast-paced, high-spec construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day construction site activities to ensure safety, quality, and progress targets are met

  • Lead coordination among contractors, subcontractors, and consultants during construction phases

  • Monitor site execution against project plans, identify risks, and implement corrective actions

  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

  • Participate in site inspections, quality audits, and progress reviews

  • Support construction reporting, issue logs, and site documentation

  • Collaborate with project managers, design leads, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth transitions between phases

  • Manage construction site resources and maintain alignment with budget and schedule targets

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

  • Minimum 10 years of construction management experience, including mission-critical or infrastructure projects

  • Proven ability to manage contractors, enforce safety standards, and deliver high-spec projects under tight schedules

  • Strong understanding of local construction regulations and procedures in Malaysia

  • Excellent site leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Fluent in English; Bahasa Malaysia proficiency is an advantage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in data centre or high-tech facility construction

  • Safety certifications (e.g., CIDB Green Card, OSHA-related training)

  • Familiarity with digital site management tools and reporting systems

  • Knowledge of commissioning and integrated systems testing workflows
