Position Summary
The Project Director will be responsible for the leadership and overall direction of large-scale data centre projects in Malaysia. This role involves end-to-end accountability for program planning, design coordination, construction delivery, and commercial performance. The ideal candidate will bring strategic oversight, operational rigor, and deep technical understanding to drive project success in a fast-paced, high-spec environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead full lifecycle project delivery across planning, design, construction, commissioning, and handover
Provide strategic direction and leadership to internal teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders
Drive project execution in alignment with scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality targets
Oversee commercial performance including contract negotiation, procurement, and change control
Manage risks, project governance, and executive reporting for regional and global leadership
Foster a high-performance culture focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement
Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and international data centre standards
Act as the client’s primary representative, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Minimum 15 years of experience in project delivery, including at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role
Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure or mission-critical projects
Strong knowledge of regional construction regulations and global delivery standards
Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills
Fluent in English; Bahasa Malaysia is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or industry certifications (e.g., PMP, Chartered Engineer)
Experience in data centre or high-technology infrastructure environments
Familiarity with commissioning, integrated systems testing, and sustainability standards
Exposure to design-build or fast-track delivery models
