Position Summary
As CSA Manager, you will own and drive all civil, structural and architectural design activities for regional data-centre projects. Reporting to the Project Engineering Director, you will lead appointed consultants and contractors through each project phase, establish design standards, embed sustainability best practices and ensure seamless integration of architectural elements with civil and structural works.
Key Responsibilities
Lead CSA design delivery for data-centre developments from concept through construction handover, ensuring alignment with employer’s requirements and group design standards
Develop, refine and maintain CSA Employer’s Requirements in collaboration with planners, architects, structural engineers and operations teams
Manage external consultants and contractors: issue scopes of work, review deliverables, conduct design audits and resolve technical issues
Review detailed drawings, structural calculations, site plans and architectural layouts for compliance with Singapore’s BCA codes, international standards (IBC, Eurocode) and TIA-942/Uptime criteria
Drive value-engineering workshops to optimize costs, improve schedule adherence and enhance design resilience without sacrificing quality or reliability
Champion sustainable design by applying BCA GreenMark, LEED or equivalent frameworks, targeting net-zero energy and minimal embodied carbon
Oversee BIM coordination: manage 3D models in Revit, conduct clash detection and ensure accurate handovers to construction teams
Support risk assessments, business-continuity planning and disaster-recovery strategies related to site civil works and architectural elements
Mentor and develop a team of CSA engineers and architects, providing guidance on technical best practices, career development and performance feedback
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Architecture
Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in CSA design for data-centre, industrial or large commercial projects
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (Civil 3D/Revit Structure/Revit Architecture) and Bluebeam
In-depth knowledge of building, environmental and safety codes, plus familiarity with TIA-942 and Uptime Institute standards
Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage third-party consultants
Strong communication skills, with experience liaising across engineering, construction and operations stakeholders
Willingness to travel to project sites across Asia
Preferred Qualifications
Professional registration as a Civil/Structural Engineer (PE) or Qualified Architect
Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline
Certification in sustainable design (e.g., LEED AP, BCA Green Mark Accredited Professional)
Experience with modular construction and prefabrication techniques
