About the Role:
The Project Design Manager will oversee and manage all design aspects of an aviation manufacturing project in Kuala Lumpur. This role requires leadership in coordinating design teams, ensuring seamless integration between design, engineering, and construction functions to meet project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design process from concept to construction documentation for the aviation manufacturing project.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure design intent aligns with project requirements and goals.
- Manage multi-disciplinary design teams, including architects, engineers, and consultants, ensuring timely delivery of design milestones.
- Provide technical guidance and design input to ensure constructability, cost-efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the project management and construction teams to resolve design-related issues and support project delivery.
- Review and approve design submissions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, codes, and company standards.
- Oversee change management and design-related risks, providing proactive solutions.
- Drive the integration of innovative and sustainable design principles throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8–12 years of experience managing design on complex construction or engineering projects.
- Strong background in manufacturing projects will be highly advantageous.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams.
- Excellent understanding of design processes, construction methodologies, and project lifecycle.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM) and project management tools.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience working in international or multicultural environments is a plus.
