The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer Manager to join the Data Centre Business Unit. You will be responsible for setting high standards for performance and values, validating efforts and contributions, and ensuring cooperative interaction in a trusting and respectful work environment. A key focus will be on cascading down the company vision and managing resources effectively to support the delivery of high-quality projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering tasks for the design of electrical systems for data centre facilities.
- Prepare electrical engineering calculations and deliverables in support of electrical system designs, if required.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to develop and finalize project deliverables, ensuring the integration of inputs from all relevant teams.
- Provide specialized technical input to studies and all relevant technical documentation.
- Support project on-site execution, making informed decisions as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Assist in the development of studies and design procedures to ensure high-quality, cost-effective work.
- Lead the development of conceptual, preliminary, and final design documents, including calculations related to system sizing and selection, development of power diagrams, layout of electrical equipment, and electrical system controls.
- Coordinate the execution of electrical engineering work across projects and manage the electrical engineering team.
- Ensure the technical quality and timely issuance of all electrical documents and drawings on the project.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Client and internal queries on the electrical discipline.
- Communicate priorities and assign tasks to the electrical engineering team.
- Raise concerns and change notices for consideration.
- Organize regular electrical discipline meetings, draft action plans, and follow up on their closure.
- Support the procurement teams by writing scopes of work and reviewing technical submissions from trades.
- Ensure the electrical engineering team’s workload is distributed appropriately.
- Train and coach the electrical team on technical requirements and decide on the technical solutions to be applied to electrical design.
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar experience and qualifications). Professional registration preferred.
- 5+ years in electrical engineering, with a minimum of 2+ years of experience in Asia (NEA or SEA).
- Proven successful experience in electrical engineering within the construction management process.
- Experience in leading electrical processes and managing electrical engineering teams.
- Knowledge of data centre typologies and commissioning requirements.
- Familiarity with international standards such as ASHRAE.
- Effective communicator with the ability to clearly convey information to team members.
- Proven skills in all digital and common data environments.
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in BIM360/ACC, Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk, and Microsoft Suite (including Power BI).
- Hardware and technology platform adoption and integration skills.
- Knowledge of training and education programs and processes.
- Understanding of LEED/BREEAM standards.
