Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain
- Work closely with the Commercial Director (CD) and help manage the supply chain selection process and monitor the effectiveness of the contractors we are working with in conjunction with the Commercial Team & Construction Team.
- Select suitable subcontractors for the work taking into consideration volume of work and location.
- Maintaining the Supply Chain master List and assisting with ensuring we have up to date PQQ data stored on our server for key supply chain.
- Managing some of the relationships and building better partnerships that benefit OIG.
Post-Contracts – Projects
Producing Bill of Quantities – from tender or Constructions Drawing.
- Accurately checking measurements and cross-checking vs BoQ.
- Raising RFIs based on drawings or Specification Discrepancies.
- Review Addendum Drawings and update BoQ with changes.
- Keeping good records with marked up drawings for all take offs in a logical manner.
- Check out Qty queries from consultant.
- Review of Shop drawings / RFI;s from time to time to support the Design Team and identify change
- Manage and execute effectively and effectively the following tasks in line with the business and clients’ expectations and project requirements:
- OIG Commercial Processes & Procedures are complied with.
- Procurement process with QS and CD, and buying targets are bettered and PO’s released in line with program milestones . Procurement Schedule to be set up within 2 Weeks (or earlier) after Estimator Handover.
- Purchase orders and payment certificates processes are complied with.
- Negotiation skills with Sub-contractors if needed when Commercial Manager fail to meet the target margin. Maximise Profits using Commercial experience
- Prelims Re-Allocation to be set up within 2 Weeks after Estimator Handover
- All aspects of the Change Process (inc V.E) both up and downstream, and ensure submissions are accurate , on time and close out efficiently. VOs to be assessed in a timely manner – and reflected in MCRs in real time.
- Final account prepared by QS towards the end of the project. 1 month of CPC for upstream and 3 months to downstream.
- All aspects of Monthly Payment Cycle (applications, valuation, certification and invoicing), both up and downstream including following up and ensuring payment on time.
- Provide advice to Commercial Manager if the evaluated payment applications is lower than 10% from submitted payment applications.
- Monthly cost report with the QS , Project Managers and CD prior to presenting to the MD.
- Administer the QS tasks in line with contract or project requirements, inc close involvement with other senior team members re Upstream and Downstream claims – EOT , delay notices or NCR’s , Contra Charges and Damages.
- Provide feed
- Assist with the CD and distribute the projects to the QS.
- Ensure all commercial trackers are updated regularly to suite the business needs and close liaison with finance team.
- Provide necessary data /input for the review of monthly payments to sub-contractors which is led by the CD , MD and Finance.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying or other similar qualifications.
- Fellow or Associate member of an internationally recognized professional affiliation.
- Minimum 15 years relevant working experience.
