Position: Commercial Manager (Data Centre)

Full Time / Contract: Full Time

Project Type: New Build Data Centre

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Salary: MYR 18,000 – 20,000 per month

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commercial management and contractual administration of the new build data centre project in Kuala Lumpur.
  • Develop and implement effective commercial strategies and policies to maximize project profitability and mitigate risks.
  • Manage all financial aspects of the project, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Collaborate with project managers, quantity surveyors, and other stakeholders to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Oversee the preparation and negotiation of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular financial reviews, audits, and reporting to senior management and clients.
  • Identify and manage project risks, providing solutions to mitigate potential financial impacts.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, payment collection, and resolution of any financial disputes.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and best practices to enhance commercial performance.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager, preferably in the data centre or high-tech infrastructure sector.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects.
  • Excellent analytical, financial management, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications for commercial management and cost control.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities, with the capacity to manage and motivate a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of local construction regulations, standards, and practices.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Professional certification such as RICS, MRICS, or equivalent is a plus.
