The Role:
This is a strategic opportunity for an experienced Business Development professional to lead the regional sales function in alignment with company strategy and market drivers. You will be responsible for identifying key projects, engaging new and existing customers, and positioning the company strongly to secure key bids in identified market segments. In this role, you will manage client relationships, drive sales and business development efforts, and establish sales and business development procedures and processes to achieve the company’s financial targets.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the regional sales function to target and win business in line with the company strategy and financial targets.
- Ensure the company understands and is focused on market drivers and client needs.
- Develop and manage key customer relationships (CRM) across the region in coordination with the Global Business Units (GBUs).
- Establish and maintain a sales and business development team as needed to support business growth.
- Develop and enforce sales and business development procedures, processes, materials/collateral, and regional reports, ensuring compliance.
- Act as the regional alignment point of contact with Regional Business Units (RBUs) and Global Business Units (GBUs).
- For key project opportunities, or as requested by country management, become directly involved in CRM, Capture Planning, and Proposal Win Strategies.
- Liaise closely with and support the Marketing Department in initiatives and their execution.
- Monitor and manage sales budgets.
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:
- Degree in Engineering or Business. Diploma holders with professional certifications or equivalent professional experience are also eligible.
- 10 to 12 years of related experience, with extensive knowledge of the construction/engineering market.
- Proven track record in securing business and strong business development experience.
- Strong business network within the territory.
- Past experience in turnkey engineering and construction for major projects.
- Commercial experience is preferred.
- Excellent negotiation, client relationship, and networking skills.
- High business acumen with an ability to manage business complexity.
- Culturally aware and able to promote diversity in the organization.
- Dynamic and entrepreneurial mindset, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
- Understanding of sales processes and techniques.
- Proficiency in financial reporting and projections.
- Knowledge in tendering/estimating, engineering & project delivery, and contracts/legal is beneficial.
- PMP certification is an added advantage.
